Mason, Texas

Mason is a small Texas Hill Country town surrounded by a landscape that feels both beautiful and rugged.

A close friend’s family ranch has become a place we return to when we need to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.

I often use that time to experiment as well. This series moves between direct observations of the ranch and surrounding land and photographs made using a dragged shutter. The resulting movement and blur allow the landscape to feel less literal and, at times, more like memory.
